I love walking! And, I’ve been doing a lot of it lately. I’m totally committed this year to losing weight and becoming fitter and healthier.
And, I’m very pleased to say that I’m making good progress this time. So far I’ve lost around 13 kg and I’m feeling a lot fitter.
Three or four months ago, I probably would have struggled to walk more than 10 kilometres in one session. But, today I walked 16 kilometres and enjoyed every minute of it.
The truth is that I get a LOT more out of walking than just the physical benefits. For me, walking is like mobile meditation. While I’m walking I’m able to get down into deep-thought mode and I’ve managed to gain some pretty important insights into both my personal and business life.
I live near the seashore and there are many kilometres of coastal walking track close by. And, because I work for myself and can set my own hours, I have the time to take long walks. I’m very thankful that I have both the time and the place to walk.
As an added bonus, during today’s walk, I came across a gorgeous little echidna snacking on ants. In fact, I’ve spotted this little guy several times now around the same location.
